Basement Jaxx set the pace at Yas


Simon Ratcliffe says "There are times when we go a bit too ... Basement Jaxx,one half of the British dance duo, before describing previous DJ sets as "quite erratic".

The group already won a Grammy Award and played a headlining slot at Glastonbury such a crisis of confidence is rather unexpected.

When they play the Skybar, at Abu Dhabi's Yas Hotel tomorrow night Basement Jaxx will be heard mixing songs from their back catalogue with those of some of their favorite artist

"Sometimes [the shows are] not totally cohesive," he says. "But when we get it right and just tone that wildness down a little bit ... I feel really happy and think, 'Wow, we did a real Basement Jaxx night and we kept the crowd with us'."

Basement Jaxx Revisit Album


Basement Jaxx have revisited there early recordings when their label 'Atlantic Jaxx' comes to iTunes.

Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe started this band, initially they performed at clubnights Earning a cult following, the pair managed to survive amid the twin onslaught of techno and drum 'n' bass.

The two commence releasing their own productions, after forming Atlantic Jaxx Recordings label.A string of seminal EPs followed, proving that British house could be tough enough to storm dancefloors across the world.

The duo to sign an eclectic array of act when Jaxx cracked the mainstream with 'Remedy' the label gained a new found prominence

Atlantic Jaxx moved from straight up house to other underground styles, releasing a string of cheeky bootlegs.

Licensed to iTunes, Basement Jaxx have opened up the vaults of their imprint. Amongst the treasures on display are early EPs from Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe, featuring club hits such as 'Be Free' and 'Samba Magic'.

On display will be the first ever Basement Jaxx track, titled 'Deep Inside Your Love'. Taken from the long deleted 'EP 1' the track was recorded at the duo's primitive home studio somewhere in London.

Available to download, Basement Jaxx have rifled through the vaults for something a little extra. The duo have mixed together some of their most potent early material, to produce an exclusive one hour mix.
